We caught up with Ophir RFC women’s players at their training session on Monday evening at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Ophir RFC entered a partnership with UUJ mid 2020 and despite the pandemic both organisations have been working behind the scenes to promote rugby in North Belfast.

One of the immediate benefits was the formation of a women’s section and as clubs across Northern Ireland return to training Ophir Women havehad encouraging numbers out Monday and Wednesday nights preparing for their first full season.

They were joined last night by Ulster Regional Development Officer, and Ireland Women’s international, Neve Jones who worked with head coach Richard Dunseath and assistant coach Marianne Kennedy as they put the players through their paces.

Our cameraman Bob Given was there to record the activities, which you can click through in the web story below.
