On Friday evening Ulster met Glasgow Warriors in what would ultimately be their last United Rugby Championship game of the season. Given previous results this was a must win game for Ulster to qualify for the play offs.
It was an ominous start for Ulster. They conceded a Stafford McDowell try with George Horne converting for a 7-0 Glasgow lead after 7 minutes.

Ulster replied in the 18th minute when Zac Ward gathered a ball off his toes and sprinted from inside his 22 to score in the corner to reduce the deficit to 5-7.
Ulster took the lead on 32 minutes when Zac Ward intercepted on his own line and raced the length of the pitch. Jake Flannery converted to put Ulster 12-7 up.
