The last match at Meadowbank Arena on Saturday featured a combined Lurgan and Portadown side against Rainey in the U18 Bowl Final.
I missed the start of this one as I had to make the two mile hike to the toilets, after sitting pitchside freezing for 3 hours, but the teams waited for my return before scoring.
Rainey opened the scoring 13 minutes in with Ross Fullerton finishing off an extend move to cross out wide for a 0 – 5 lead.
Practically playing in their own back yard, Rainey continued to enjoy plenty of territory and possession in the first half but the Portadown combo finally hit their straps with a try from hooker Josh Brownlee, converted by Adam Wallace, for a 7 – 5 lead at the break.
