On Monday afternoon, North Down neighbours and rivals Glenlola Collegiate and Regent House faced off in the final of the Schools Plate.
Regent had the better of the 1st quarter as Glenlola couldn’t come to terms with the pace of the game and were content to defend. The 1st quarter ended 0-0.
Regent continued to dominate not allowing Glenlola out of their half. The deadlock was broken in the 22nd minute when a Daisy McGuigan’s shot found the Glenlola net for 1-0. Regent couldn’t add to their tally and halftime was reached 1-0.
Though Regent continued to have the better of the play, Glenlola began to string passes together and to start to trouble the Regent defence. There was no score in the 3rd quarter.
All the action was reserved for the 4th quarter.
