Sunday was a Finals Day at Stormont. In the Junior 3 League Cup Final Armagh faced Cookstown 3XI.

Cookstown were first to impose themselves and dominated the 1st quarter controlling midfield but were unable to breech a robust Armagh defence. The 1st quarter ended scoreless.

Cookstown took control of the game in the 2nd quarter.

Godfrey Irwin put Cookstown 1-0 up

Godfrey Irwin’s strike on 20 minutes put Cookstown 1-0 up.

Josh Irwin steers the ball home for Cookstown’s 2nd goal

This was followed up on 27 minutes, when Josh Ferguson scored to give Cookstown a 2-0 halftime lead.
