On Saturday afternoon, Ennis made the 5 hour journey up from Co Clare, to play Cooke in a Women’s All Ireland League game at Shawsbridge.

After tentative opening exchanges Cooke took control.

Luighsearch Murnaghan opened the scoring when she crossed on 10 minutes. Amanda Morton’s conversion gave Cooke a 7-0 lead.

A great break and fast ball to Luighseach Murnaghan saw her score on the right for a 12-0 lead to Cooke on 16 minutes.

Ennis responded quickly when Aoibhin Donnelly ran around the Cooke defence, on the left to score close to the posts for 5-12 on 19 minutes.

Aoibhin Donnelly added a second try on 32 minutes, this time converted by Megan O’Connor to level the score at 12-12.
