On Tuesday afternoon Banbridge Academy and Methodist College met in the Junior Cup Final at Stormont. This was a replay of the Stevenson Cup Final, which was narrowly won 1-0 by Banbridge.
Methody were first to settle winning an early penalty corner. However, both defences were on top in a first quarter, ebbed to and fro.
Banbridge took a second quarter lead when Annie Emerson struck the ball home from a penalty corner for a 1-0 lead on21 minutes. Both sides created but couldn’t take chances as halftime was reached with Banbridge leading 1-0.
Methody edged the third quarter.
