We caught up with the Junior 1 match between Portadown 2XI and Mossley 2XI at Edenvilla on Saturday afternoon.
It was another entertaining game with both teams looking forward to playing some hockey.
Portadown had a definite edge in this one but they had a major hurdle, in the form of Daisy Shirlow, to overcome. The Mossley keeper having another outstanding game.
Shirlow was called on a few times in the first quarter but she was up to the task and the visitors took full benefit when Grace McDowell found herself in space to knock in the opening goal for a 0 – 1 lead at the end of Q1.
