On Monday afternoon Victoria College III met Rainey Endowed III in a Gibson Cup tie at Newforge Country Club.
In a scoreless first half, it was the Victoria who started off strongest, attacking from the whistle but solid Rainey defence kept them out.
The third quarter was a different affair with Rainey putting pressure on and during one of their penalty corners, Madelin Ranchoux got on the end of a shot it to steer the ball home for the opening goal and a 1-0 lead.
