We caught up with the Intermediate Cup Final between Rainey and Bangor at Stormont on Saturday afternoon.
This match was a close tussle all the way through. Rainey looked to have the edge on possession in the first half and they got their reward late in the half with a penalty corner strike from Alexa McCrea to take a 1 – 0 lead into the second half.
The third quarter was fairly even but Bangor were able to shift it up a gear in the fourth quarter. The pressure told and Bangor’s Tessa Quinn was hauled down when through on the keeper. Brooke Stranaghan converted the penalty stroke to take the score to 1 – 1 with 5 minutes remaining.
