On Saturday, at lunchtime, 3rd placed Queens University faced league leaders, Loreto, from Dublin, in an All Ireland League fixture at The Dub.
Loreto edged the 1st quarter though neither side could breech the defences, and it remained 0-0.
Loreto dominated the 2nd quarter and took the lead in an explosive minute of play.
Rachel Kelly opened the scoring in the 19th minute, when her angled shot beat Rebecca Spence. Less than 60 seconds later Yasmin Pratt found space in front of goal to double the lead. Loreto led 2-0 at halftime.
