Banbridge started their All Ireland Hockey League campaign in fine style when they hosted Three Rock Rovers at Havelock Park on Saturday afternoon.
Louis Rowe opened the scoring for Bann after seven minutes and it was a lead that the home side took into the second quarter.

TRR looked for an equaliser throughout the second quarter but Bann stood firm in defence and created a few chances in attack. However, no further goals saw the score still at 1 – 0 as the teams changed ends.
A goal from Banbridge’s Matthew McKee in the third quarter gave the home side a bit of breathing space.
