On Sunday afternoon CIYMS U15 hosted NICS U15 in a club friendly at a grey, overcast Belmont.
In a scoreless 1st quarter Service had the lion’s share of territory and possession but couldn’t turn chances into goals. In the 2nd quarter the situation was reversed, with CI dominant. The game reached halftime at 0-0.
Service were fastest off the mark in the 3rd quarter. On 33 minutes Shannon Rutherford was on hand to score from close range to put Service 1-0 up.
Only 2 minutes later CI failed to clear a penalty corner and Emma Ingham slotted the ball home for a 2-0 lead.
