I caught up with a very exciting Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup match between Victoria College and Sullivan Upper at Newforge late Monday afternoon.
It was a tense game but Victoria calmed their nerves with a goal, ten minutes in, from Mollie Young for a 1 – 0 lead which they took into the second quarter.
The home side doubled their lead in the second quarter when Annie Irvine got the final touch in a goalmouth scramble which saw the teams change ends with Victoria lading 2 – 0 and looking comfortable.
