Stormont was the venue for Wednesday’s the Senior Girls Cup Final, between Strathearn and The Royal School Armagh. A large and very vocal crowd welcomed both schools at the walk on.
Whether it was the occasion and nerves but both sides made a cagey start with passes going astray or failure to control first touches. Armagh started to dominate proceedings but the Strathearn defence was on top inside their D, in a scoreless 1st quarter.

Armagh continued where they left off in the 1st quarter. They earned a penalty corner after 17 minutes; Scarlett Taylor’s shot was blocked, and Rhianna Gillespie smashed her shot against the backboard for a 1-0 Armagh lead.
