From the start it was obvious that both teams intended to attack from deep, at times throwing caution to the wind, or at least, into a very gentle breeze!

From a counter attack Harlequins took the lead through a Tom Morris try, under the posts, converted by Paul Kerr on 23 minutes. Queen’s countered immediately when David Whitten drove over from close range. Ritchie McMaster converted to tie the game.
Quins started to dominate loose play scoring two converted tries before half time. Malcolm Corry scored on 35 minutes and Mark Glover on the stroke of half time. Both tries were converted by Paul Kerr.
Quins started the 2nd half the way they finished the 1st. Glover added his 2nd try, again converted by Kerr on 48 minutes.
Flow was disrupted for both teams as legs tired in the heat and substitutions were made.

Queen’s found it increasingly difficult in the scrums, as Quins now dominated. However Queen’s found their way back into the game with two unconverted tries by Jonny Hunter after 60 and 74 minutes.
Frustratingly for Queen’s they ended the game knocking on in Harlequins ‘in goal’.
Quins were well worth their win, while Queen’s will rue costly mistakes.
