We caught up with the Mabel Coulter Challenge Cup match between Dromore Hockey Club and Dromore High on Wednesday evening at Ferris Park.
The club were in a confident mood having just gained promotion to the Women’s Premiership via the playoffs and the school were a touch rusty with there competitive season ending a month ago.
The club showed their sharpness with a goal in the first minute from Emily O’Hara Bouvet who slotted in from the left for a 1 – 0 lead.

The game settled down and the school began to work there way into the game and there was no more goals in the first quarter.
Erin McCourt added a second in Q2 from a penalty corner and the teams changed ends with the club leading 2 – 0 at half time.
