Men’s All Ireland: Banbridge 4 Corinthian 1

On Sunday afternoon Banbridge welcomed Corinthian to Havelock Park for an All Ireland Hockey League fixture.

The bright sunshine was tempered by a strong cool wind.

Banbridge took the initiative from push back spraying the ball around, retaining possession.

They took a 6th minute lead, when Johnny McKee scored for 1-0.

Perhaps against the run of play Corinthian scored in the 9th minute, when Gregory Williams hammered in a penalty corner to tie the game at 1-1.

Despite the majority of possession, Banbridge failed to capitalise and the score remained 1-1 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Banbridge did the damage in the 2nd quarter.
