All Ireland League: Pegasus 0 Loreto 4

On Saturday afternoon league leaders, Loreto, were the visitors to The Dub to play 3rd placed Pegasus in an All Ireland League fixture. On a sunny warm afternoon, I took in the first half.

Both attacks sounded out defences in the 1st quarter, winning penalty corners, without being able to convert any. The game ebbed and flowed with neither side dominating in a scoreless 1st quarter.

Loreto started to edge territory and possession in the 2nd quarter.

Loreto took the lead from a Christina Hamill strike on 26 minutes for 1-0.

Just before halftime, Emily Kealy’s goal after 34 minutes gave Loreto a 2-0 lead going into the break.
