We caught up with the Kirk Cup Pool D match between Lisnagarvey and Kilkeel at Comber Road on Saturday afternoon.
Kilkeel were under the cosh for most of this match with Garvey’s Ollie Kidd their main tormentor as he picked up six goals in the game.

Kidd picked up his first two in the first quarter to give Garvey a 2 – 0 lead to take into Q2.
In a decisive second quarter Kidd rattled in two more, quicker than I could write them down to take the score to 4 – 0. Craig Getty added goal five with Mackenzie Connor and David Nelson adding six and seven before Kidd picked up his 5th to give Garvey a 8 – 0 lead at half time.

With all the action at the far end in the first half I was expecting to be kept busy in the second half as the teams changed ends.

However, Kilkeel kept battling throughout the game and Garvey only added one more goal in the second half, Kidd completing a double hat-trick, for a 9 – 0 win.
