Championship 1: Cooke 15 Dromore 25

On a grey overcast Saturday afternoon Cooke hosted Dromore in a Championship 1 League Game at Shawsbridge.  With the next day being the winter solstice, the kick off had been moved forward to 2.00pm.

With nether side able to impose themselves, Cooke took the lead through an Andy Murray long range penalty goal for 3-0 after 7 minutes.

Ryan Flavelle scored Cooke’s first try

Ryan Flavelle spotted a gap in Dromore’s close range defence to snipe in for a Cooke try on 10 minutes. Andy McMurray’s conversion had Cooke out to 10-0.

With neither side dominating both back lines had opportunities to score but couldn’t take them. Eventually Dromore started to win good ball and started to turn the pressure up.
