Women’s AIL: Cooke 0 Railway Union 105

Hmm! I caught up with the first half hour of the Women’s AIL game between Cooke and Railway Union under the flood lights a Shaws Bridge on Saturday evening.

Railway Union ran in 19 tries in total on a cold Saturday evening. It was another disappointing game in a League that is not fit for purpose and needs a radical shake up. Playing these games with mismatched squads at 5pm on a cold winter Saturday evening is not the way to go. I’d had enough after 30 minutes.

Claire Boles scored a quick brace for Railway Union.

During that time Railway ran in seven tries with Enniskillen native opening the scoring for the visitors.

Aimee Clark heads for the line for Railway

Tries from and followed quickly as Railway rushed to a 0 – 15 lead.

finished under the posts on the 16th minute for Railways bonus point try and with adding he extras the score moved out to 0 – 22.

Sarah O’Donnell runs in try seven.

Boles went over for her second shortly after to be followed by and and, with Scanlan converting the latter, the score was at 0 – 39 when I called it a day.
