Provincial East: Academy II 43 Queens University III 12

On Saturday afternoon Queens University 3XV were the visitors to Roughfort to face Academy 2XV in a Provincial East League fixture.

Queens were fast out of the blocks. They took the lead in the opening minutes when Shay Ritchie sped through the middle to allow Angus MacDonald an easy conversion to lead 7-0.

Lee Russell dived over in the corner for Academy’s 1st try for Academy

Academy didn’t panic and within 10 minutes were on the scoreboard when Lee Russell broke through the middle to score for 5-7. A couple of minutes later, Henry George put the home side in front, rounding the defense to score close to the posts for Josh McKee to convert and a 12-7 lead.
