Schools Friendly: Royal Belfast Academical Institution 22 Blackrock College 29

On Saturday morning, Blackrock College were the southeast Dublin visitors to Osborne to face Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a Schools Friendly.

The game started at pace. Inst took the lead after 5 minutes, through a Charlie O’Connor penalty goal to lead 3-0.

In a sweeping move Harry O’Neill replied for the visitors with a 7th minute try in the left corner, converted by Bernard White to lead 7-5.

A Rhys Keogh try on 19 minutes increased Blackrock’s lead to 12-5.

Ross Dillon got Inst’s first try

Inst steadied, won territory and possession and from a maul close to the Blackrock line, Ross Dillon burrowed over after 22 minutes. Charlie O’Connor’s conversion pulled Inst back to 10-12.
