We caught up with the Medallion Trophy match between Banbridge Academy and Portadown College at Banbridge on Saturday morning.

Banbridge started well, scoring an early try from No 8, Charlie Geoghagen who crashed over beside the posts to give Daniel Byrne a straightforward conversion for a 7 – 0 lead.

It was all Banbridge in the first half but it took until midway through the half for the same combination to double the lead, Geoghagen going over in the corner and Byrne converting from out wide to take the score to 14 – 0.

Daniel Byrne kicked three conversions.
