Royal Belfast Academical Institution recovered from their midweek defeat by Larne Grammar 😆 to record an impressive win against Blackrock College. The Belfast boys outscored their Dublin rivals by three tries to two in the 17 – 15 win.

The first half was a tense affair with defenses’ dominating. Jude Postlewaite opened the scoring with an unconverted try to give the home side a 5 – 0 lead. Blackrock pulled back a penalty before the break and the teams turned round with Inst leading 5 – 3.

The game opened up somewhat in the second half with and both crossing for Inst and, with converting the second, the Belfast side looked well set at 17 – 3 as the teams went into the final quarter.

However, Blackrock hit back with two late tries, one converted, but, in a tense finish, Inst held on to record a memorable win.
