Roughfort was the venue, on a sunny Saturday morning, for the Medallion Shield semi-final, between Coleraine Grammar School and Royal Belfast Academical Institution.
Inst were quite tentative from kick off, as Coleraine took the game to them. A Ben Todd penalty goal after 4 minutes gave them a 3-0 lead.
Inst settled and their pack rumbled forward. Oliver Jones broke from a maul and darted over, after 11 minutes. Adam Millar’s conversion gave Inst a 7-3 lead. Despite Inst having most possession and being camped in the Coleraine half, they could break a very stubborn defence.

Jack Coulter burrowed over from close range after 26 minutes. Millar’s conversion had Inst leading 14-3 . . .
