On Wednesday afternoon Banbridge Academy faced Belfast High School in the Medallion Trophy final at Friends School, Lisburn.
Playing with a stiff breeze Banbridge pressed with forward interplay. They became more ambitious throwing the ball wide. A loose pass was intercepted in the 22. Tom Huey showed a clean pair of heels to the Banbridge defence, before dotting down under the posts. Matthew McCabe’s conversion put High School 0-7 up in 9 minutes.

Banbridge took a few minutes to compose themselves. An attack from deep saw Sam Leslie find a gap to sprint in at the corner, after 16 minutes to reduce the deficit to 5-7.
