Men Premier: South Antrim 1 Cookstown 3

Laurelhill Sports Zone, Lisburn, was the venue on Tuesday evening for the Men Premier fixture between South Antrim ,3rd, and Cookstown, 1st. A mild dry evening turned miserable for spectators with a fine ,incessant rain for most of the game.

Before South Antrim settled Cookstown took a 5th minute lead when Jack Haycock scored from a penalty corner for a 1-0 lead.

There was a degree of feistiness throughout the game manifesting itself in 4 green cards and a yellow card, as midfield’s vied for dominance. Cookstown led 1-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Both teams had chances in the 2nd quarter, though Cookstown had the lion’s share of possession. Neither team could convert chances and the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
