There was a double header at Gibson Park on Sunday with a Girls Under 18 League game kicking off on Pitch 2 half an hour before a Women’s Premiership math on the main pitch.
I caught up with the first half of the girls game featuring players from Carrick, Larne, Ophir and Malone (CLOM) against players from Omagh and Portadown (OP) clubs. OP were short a few players so CLOM players rotated sides to ensure that a game of 14-a-side got underway.
OP got off to the best of starts with two quick tries from Hannah Lennon, both converted to take a 0 – 14 lead.
