On grey, overcast, gloomy Saturday morning Banbridge Academy hosted Ballyclare High School in a Schools Cup Pool E fixture. Banbridge had won their previous Pool E fixture, Ballyclare had lost.
A deceptively strong wind blew diagonally across the pitch, into the bottom corner, bringing rain, at intervals throughout the game.

Playing with the wind, Banbridge forced Ballyclare to defend. Fast ball across the backs, put Joey Mackerell in space to round the defence, before scoring, in the right corner. Andrew Jackson nailed the conversion from the narrow angle and Banbridge lead 7-0 after 8 minutes.
