We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Larne Grammar entertained near neighbours Carrick Grammar at their Lower Cairncastle Road playing fields on a damp and drizzly Friday afternoon. The home side recorded a 29 -14 win in an entertaining game which saw six tries scored.

Lee McKee started and ended the scoring with a brace of tries for Larne with Jack Withers and Robbie Simpson crossing in between. Out half Euan Glenn converted three of the tries and a penalty.

Carrick’s scores came from David Doherty and Josh Clements with Daniel Curley converting both.

The visitors started well and kept Larne pinned in their own half during the opening exchanges. Larne eventually worked their way up field and after a period of pressure in the Carrick 22 second row McKee drove over for the opening try. Glenn converted and Larne led 7 – 0 somewhat against the run of play.

The home side started to get on top but the bulk of the game was being played between the 10 yard lines until Withers broke clear with a powerful midfield break, the centre sprinting 30 meters to score under the posts. Glenn again converted to give the home side a 14 – 0 lead.

Carrick hit back strongly with converted tries from Doherty and Clements either side of a Glenn penalty staking the score to 17 – 14 in Larnes favour with about 15 minutes left.

As the game went into the final quarter it looked as though the visitors were going to snatch the win as they bombarded the Larne line however the home side held firm and two late tries from Simpson and McKee secured the win. Glenn converted the first to give a final score of Larne Grammar 29 Carrick Grammar 14.
