UNIPHAR U21 Series: Ireland 1 Scotland 2

On Tuesday evening Ireland U21 faced Scotland U21 in Game Two of the Four Game Uniphar U21 Series at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Having lost Game One 1 – 0 to the Irish girls, Scotland set about the task of equalling the series from push back. They swarmed the Irish defence, preventing the ball being played up to midfield. The Irish were not allowed to settle before a pair of Scottish forwards closed down options. The Irish attack was starved of the ball and could mount few meaningful attacks.

Aoife Glennon was kept busy in the Irish goal

Eventually the Irish defence cracked, when Izzy Usher found space in the ‘D’, to open the scoring for Scotland after 13 minutes. Scotland led 1-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
