International Friendly: Ireland 2 USA 1

On Tuesday afternoon, at the National Stadium, at UCD, Ireland hosted USA in Game 2 of a 2 Game Series. USA had defeated Ireland 2 – 3 the previous day.

Ireland took control immediately. A through ball was controlled by Irish Captain, Katie Mullan and smashed into the US net for a 1-0 lead after 2 minutes. Ireland couldn’t convert further chances and led 1-0 at the end of the 1stquarter.

USA began to exert some pressure in the 2nd quarter. An US attack was not cleared, and Liz Murphy equalised on 26 minutes. Ireland went close at the other end, but the score remained 1-1 at half time.

Ireland dominated the 3rd quarter but again struggled to finish off their chances . . .
