On a sunny, but cool, Easter Saturday Instonians III hosted Academy II, in the Forster Plate Final, at Shaw’s Bridge.
Inst gained a foothold in the Academy 22 from kick off and a Richard Maguire penalty goal, after 5 minutes, steadied the nerves and gave Inst a 3-0 lead. Play fluctuated between the 22s before Jason Glenn’s 17thminute try, converted by Maguire, moved Inst out to 10-0.
After 25 minutes Teao Cardman found space, on the right, to run around and dot down behind the posts. Maguire’s conversion gave Inst a 17-0 lead.
