It hasn’t been ideal conditions for photography over the weekend but we caught up with some matches Championship 1, our favourite league, starting at Shaw’s Bridge as Cooke entertained CIYMS under lights on Friday 30th December 2022.

I had to think back 5 years to when I last saw a game heading to half time with no score registered by either team.

CI’s Peter Raine broke the deadlock with an unconverted try at the end of the first half.

Approaching the break CI finally broke the deadlock after both teams had each lost a man to the bin, with a touch down by Peter Raine in the corner, Michael Lawton unable to convert leaving the score at 0 – 5 at half time.
