Schools Cup: Rainey Endowed 7 Sullivan Upper 10.

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

Sullivan Upper goes into the hat for Saturday’s Schools Cup Round 4 draw after staging a second half comeback at Rainey Endowed. A penalty in the final quarter was the difference between the two teams as Sullivan sneaked ahead to win 7 – 10.

The match was a tense, scrappy affair with both defences dominating and territory going with the steady breeze blowing straight down the pitch.

Rainey had the conditions behind them in the first half and they enjoyed the territorial advantage. After a messy opening quarter the home side spent a sustained period of pressure in the Sullivan 22 and they eventually got their reward when Rainey’s prop charged down an attempted clearance from Sullivan scrum half . Lynch managed to react quickly and fell on the ball under the posts to claim the opening try much to the delight of the large crowd. Out half converted to give the home side a 7 – 0 lead.

Sullivan tried to hit back before the break but threw away a few chances, being a little over impulsive on occasion.

The second half was a mirror image of the first with Sullivan Upper enjoying the conditions and the territory. After a series of attacks the visitors finally found some space out wide where left wing had the gas to outstrip the defence and the sense to bring the ball in field for a easier kick. Sullivan fullback Ross Adair duly obliged with the conversion and the scores were tied at 7 – 7.

Sullivan continued to push for a second score and when a break from out half  ended up with a penalty being awarded they kept their composure and opted for the kick. Adiar slotted it over and the visitors were ahead 7 – 10.

Rainey roused themselves and pushed hard for a winning score but the Sullivan defence held firm with the visitors holding on to take the game.
