On Saturday morning old rivals Royal Belfast Academical Institution and Methodist College met in a Schools Friendly at Medallion level, at Osborne Park.
From kick off Methody attacked and after several attacks, created space on the left for Isaac Bell to score in the corner, for a 5 – 0 Methody lead after 5 minutes.
Methody continued to press, but despite pressing in the red zone, a stubborn Inst defence held out.
Eventually on 23 minutes Inst broke out. Andrew Purcell was given space in his own half and ran round a series of despairing tackles to score midway out. Jonah Park’s conversion gave Inst an unlikely 7 – 5 lead, considering their lack of territory and possession.
