All Ireland Hockey League: Pegasus 6 Monkstown 2

I caught up with Pegasus for the second time this week as they entertained Monkstown in an EYHL match at the Dub late Saturday afternoon.

The pass pack was pushed back 10 minutes due to an overrun in the previous game which meant I had to leave before the end to get to my next game at Cooke. I wasn’t able to get the score sheet at the end of this one so hopefully the scorers are as per the teams numbers announced in the match programme.

Shirley McKay opened the scoring with a penalty stroke.

No mistaking the first scorer though as it was Ireland’s most capped sportswoman Shirley McCay MBE who found the net after 10 minutes with a penalty stroke to give Pegasus a 1 – 0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
