Ulster U18 Girls Defeat Leinster after Run-Ins

Ulster U18 Girls took to the pitch for their first interpro game of 2022 on Sunday against Leinster at Banbridge HC. The Ulster girls had the majority of attacking opportunities in the opening quarter; forwards Gabi Scott and Emma Uprichard making several steals from the Leinster outlet to create chances which were well dealt with by the Leinster defence and goalkeeper, Martha Duigan.

As the visitors began to settle into the game, they created several counterattacks against an outnumbered Ulster defence. It was from one of these overloads that they won a corner and took the lead going into the half time break when their strike at the top of the circle from Alex Gallagher took an unexpected deflection off an Ulster stick and caught the keeper off guard.

Gabi Scott scored the equaliser for Ulster in the third quarter
