2021-11-20 Pegasus 3 UCD 3 EYHL Women

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

It’s been a while since we caught up with Ulster’s premier powerhouses and it looks like the lean mean hockey machine has been misfiring a touch in November, slipping down to 2nd place in the EYHL after a 2 – 1 win for Pembroke Wanderers in Dublin a couple of weeks ago.

However, Pegasus are still very much in the hunt, on all fronts, and it’s building for an exciting second half to the All Ireland league, with five points separating the top 4. Hopefully we’ll get a few 13:00 or 16:00 push backs so we can cover the run in.

To be fair, Pegasus didn’t manage to impose their swarming all field press all that often in the first quarter of this match but they did edge territory and possession and took the lead 10 minutes in with getting the final touch on a penalty corner strike.

Emma Quinn opened the scoring for Pegasus against UCD at Newforge on Saturday afternoon.

However, UCD’s quick breaking counters had been causing Pegasus problems with Niamh and both running good lines. equalised for UCD within a minute of conceding and Michelle Carey put UCD 1 – 2 ahead at the end of the first quarter.

UCD’s Naimh Carey is congratulated after getting the equaliser against Pegasus at Newforge on Saturday afternoon.

The second quarter started to the ring of captain McCay extolling her players to raise the tempo and we began to see more of and in our viewfinder as Pegasus started to swarm forwards. did a good job to move the UCD defence about and Lucy McKee found the gap to push in from the right and slot in the equaliser.

Lucy McKee pulls it back to 2 – 2 for Pegasus against UCD at Newforge on Saturday afternoon.

I only had time for the first half but by the time I left it looked as though Pegasus were starting to get on top but I thought that UCD had at least one more goal in them as the Carey’s continued to trouble the defence.

Michelle Carey had a strong game for UCD with two goals against Pegasus at Newforge on Saturday afternoon.

It was no surprise, on reading the score sheet later, to find that Michelle Carey had scored again for UCD with getting the third for Pegasus in a 3 – 3 draw.
