Club Women: QUB RFC U18 Performance Camp.

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

Queen’s University held a three day U18 Performance Camp at their exceptional facilities at the Dub. The course ran on Wednesday afternoons for three weeks in August.

The Front Row Union had a vested interest here as we sent two of our players along to test it out, well they are a bit young to send to France, and the verdict from our girls and the rest of the participants is that it was a big success.

You can view a quick snapshot of how the camps went in the web story below. thanks to the coaches and Sinead and Shana for the interviews. (Apologies for the poor sound on Sinead’s clip – that was our fault!)

QUB RFC U18 PERFORMANCE CAMP

When you consider how few opportunities there are for underage women players in Ulster, camps like this are a great supplement to the work done at the clubs and the players appeared to get a lot out of it.

Having helped out with the girls programme at my local club I know how much resources and time are stretched trying to work with players ranging from U12’s to U18’s, with vastly different levels of experience, and trying to keep everyone fully engaged. The camp gave the players some quality time with the coaches to help sharpen up their technique and hopefully they will take their learnings back to their clubs.

As well as giving the players quality time with experienced coaches the camps also took them through strength and conditioning work in the gym as well as segments on nutrition and the players pathway.

We caught up with the opening and closing sessions over the three weeks. You can view our images below.
