We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Queen’s University and Malone met in the SONI Ulster Rugby Premiership on Saturday in the last round before the start of their AIL campaigns next weekend.

Malone began their game strongly putting Queen’s under pressure to give away a penalty, converting to give Malone a 3-0 lead in the first few minutes.

Some strong carries from Malone’s back row, , put Queen’s under pressure once again, and a deliberate knock on added a penalty try to the Red Sox’s total, to take the score to 10-0 to Malone in the first quarter.

Queens came back into the game quickly with some high tempo passing and an impressive break from captain saw him send second row over the white wash in the first half. converting.

The students continued to press and a forced pass from Malone led to the loose ball being kicked ahead for to chase down. McMaster converted to give Queen’s 17-10 advantage. 

The home team started the second half determined not to give Malone any room to move. Another strong break from Whitten with a strong supporting line from saw the winger dot down in the corner to take the score to  22-10.

Malone managed to gain another 3 points as a penalty was awarded against Queens. A few strong carries and some quick hands across the backs, saw Malone almost gain their second try from their hard working centre, but the try was disallowed due to a knock on.

The visitors looked frustrated in the final ten minutes as they gave away a penalty to add another 3 points to Queens total followed by a penalty try, for a collapsed maul, to give a final score of 32-13 in Queen’s favour.

The Premiership is now parked until December with Queens siting in third place and Malone fourth in Division 1.
