We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. The second final at Ashbourne on Saturday afternoon featured AIL side Cooke RFC Women against promotion chasing Tralee RFC Women with the Belfast girls edging an entertaining encounter in the Shield Final.

An all action display from Cooke youngster pushed the game in favour of AIL side. Irwin kicked the decisive five points and set up a try for teammate as she constantly tested the Tralee defence.

Tralee had already shown us their credentials when they faced Malone Women in the earlier rounds and they didn’t disappoint as they took an early lead through a penalty from Laoise O’Driscoll towards the end of the first quarter.

Cooke struck back with a penalty from Irwin at the start of the second quarter and as the game approached half time a decisive break by “snake hips” gave the Belfast side the lead as she sprinted clear to score out wide, giving Cooke an 8 – 3 lead at the break.

A break by Irwin was finished of by Cregan at the start of the second half and with Irwin adding the extras Cooke took a decisive 15 – 3 lead.

However, Tralee continued to show the grit and determination typical of a Munster side and a late try from , converted by O’Driscoll, gave them a glimmer of a chance as the game approached full time.

However, Irwin’s kicking game, with one notable exception, kept Cooke in the right area of the pitch and they were able to close out the game to claim their first silverware of the season.
