We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

Thanks to Richard Owens we have an extra schools match this week.

Two sides with limited 1st team rugby kicked off at Grosvenor Grammar School last Saturday morning. Early skirmishes were balanced but after Grosvenor were penalised at the breakdown in their own half, Campbell kicked to the corner and from the resulting line out, the ball was moved wide and the wing dotted down in the corner for Campbell’s first try which Ralston converted.

From the restart Grosvenor made progress into Campbell’s half and it was their turn to be awarded a penalty when Campbell were offside. Grosvenor elected to take the 3 points through the boot of .

A period of untidy play followed but Grosvenor looked the sharper of the two sides and with the ball loose their backs showed they were equally capable in the wide channel with crossing for a try converted by Moore. A few minutes later Grosvenor’s accurate goal kicker added another 3 penalty points.

With the score now 13 – 7 in Grosvenor’s favour and half time approaching Campbell began to show some composure and after good work from the pack the ball was shifted quickly to the backs. A perfectly delayed pass to the winger allowed , to win the race to the line and the try was again converted by Ralston leaving the score 14 – 13 at half time.

In such a close match the first score in the third quarter would be crucial and Campbell unleashed a superb set play from a scrum sending their full back Adam Russell straight through to score under the posts. Campbell’s dominance continued and after so much hard tackling and defensive effort from Grosvenor’s tiring players, Campbell ran in a further two tries from and to secure the win.
