On Saturday afternoon Monkstown made to trip up from Dublin to face league leaders, Lisnagarvey, at Comber Road.
Garvey imposed themselves from push back, controlling midfield and finding forward runs with telling passes.

After several chances, Garvey took the lead from Andrew Williamson’s strike in the 9th minute for 1-0.
Garvey spurned more chances and led 1-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
Garvey doubled their lead on 24 minutes, through a Matthew Nelson goal for 2-0.
Monkstown reacted but couldn’t break through a robust Garvey defence. Garvey led 2-0 at halftime.
Monkstown responded on the 3rtd quarter. Geoff Cole’s strike from a penalty corner reduced the deficit to 1-2. Garvey led 2-1 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
