Ballyclare U16 and Ballynahich U16 teams contested the Ulster Rugby Club U16 Bowl at Meadowbank Arena early Saturday afternoon.

This was another game that was quick to get the scoreboard ticking over as Ballyclare’s No 10 Paul McCrea slipped over for the opening try just as I was getting seated after my comfort break between games. McCrea added the conversion to give ‘Clare a 7 – 0 lead.

Paul McCrea opened the scoring for Ballyclare with a try and conversion.

The Co Antrim side enjoyed the bulk of territory and possession in the first half and their hard working No 8 Ewan Hoy powered over 10 minutes later to take the score to 14 – 0 after McCrea’s conversion.
