Sunday afternoon saw the much postponed Kirk Cup Final, between Banbridge and Lisnagarvey at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club. As befits a final between the top 2 clubs in the All Ireland league, a belter of a game was served up by both teams.

Both sides served up a fast, furious and skilful game

Banbridge settled first and opened the scoring, through a Louis Rowe strike, after 6 minutes. They continued to press but Lisnagarvey responded with a penalty corner, from which they won penalty stroke. Andrew Edgar converted this to bring the scores level after 11 minutes.

The scores were level at the end of the 1st quarter.
