On Saturday morning Letterkenny II U14 made the trip up to Shaw’s Bridge to play Instonians U14 in the U14 Bowl. To Letterkenny’s credit, though their first XV match was conceded, they fielded their relatively novice second XV, against an experienced Instonians side.
Inst fielded the ball from kick off and fed James Lewis, who rounded the Letterkenny defence before dotting down under the posts. His conversion put Inst up 7-0 in a minute.
Letterkenny had barely touched the ball, when Cameron Lyttle crashed over after 6 minutes, to put Inst up 12-0.
Two minutes later Fred Patterson found space on the right to touch down under the posts for a 17-0 lead. On 12 minutes Allan Przbysz darted through, for Lewis to convert for 24-0.
Letterkenny enjoyed some possession but found it difficult to make headway into the Inst half.
Aidan Notarantonio’s try and Lewis’ conversion moved Inst out to 31-0 on 19 minutes. Captain, Marcel Cebula’s drove over, on the right, after 24 minutes, to bring up 36-0.
Joshua McDowell’s try and Lewis’ conversion, after 27 minutes, gave Inst a 43-0 half time lead.
After Cullen Crothers try, on 34 minutes, the game was called, with Inst winning 48-0.
