Instonians go over for a try in the Round 3 match against Bangor in the Goldsborough Trophy on Easter Monday at Shaws Bridge

I picked up the competition at Round 3 and concentrated on the Pitch 1 matches. The standard was good with all teams having their moments and they were played in good spirits with a touch of low level sledging from the side lines for the “grudge” matches.

The results saw Instonians top League A and Armagh top League B, both sides undefeated they were joined in the semi finals by Enniskillen who finished second in League A and Academy, who pipped Harlequins by an extra conversion, to finish second in League B.

Semi Final Results

The final pitched, home side favourites, Instonians against Enniskillen who had battled particularly hard to go through in the semi final against the much fancied City of Armagh side.

Instonians break clear for a second half try against Enniskillen in the Final of the Goldsborough Trophy on Easter Monday at Shaws Bridge

Unfortunately, for Enniskillen, the final was a touch one sided with Skins running out of steam after their big semi final win. Instonians ran in five tries without reply to lift the Goldsborough Trophy and set up a evening of hard partying at the Shaws Bridge clubhouse.
